The one disappointment was the strict policy: Food are not allowed near the pool or sun‑lounge areas, only in one corner of the rooftop Level 10. This isn’t a practical choice many guests want to relax and enjoy a light meal or snack while staying by the water. Having to dry off and change fully to enter the restaurant meant it was often empty, and I think the hotel misses out on extra business this way. Otherwise, a nice, well‑kept property with lovely people just hope they review that rule soon."

"Had a really nice experience here. The location is a bit far from the city, but since we wanted a hotel closer to the airport, it was perfect for us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. The hotel was clean and had many scenic spots in the property, especially the beautiful Kurulu Kele area. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea there, which was such a relaxing experience. The buffet was great with a good variety of food. We had both dinner and breakfast buffets, while lunch was à la carte, and honestly, that was great too. Our room was spacious with a lovely pool view. One of my favorite moments was watching the sunset from the hotel. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable stay."

"Review of Tabrobane House My husband and I both work in hospitality, so this review comes from a professional perspective. We stayed at Tabrobane House for four nights after traveling around southern Sri Lanka, as we wanted a comfortable base for shopping and exploring Colombo. One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its location. It's conveniently close to many restaurants, cafés, and shops, yet tucked away from the main road, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere that is especially suitable for couples. Getting around is easy by tuk-tuk, and Galle Face is only about 15 minutes away. The hotel is small and boutique in style, and it's clear that the team takes on multiple roles to keep operations running smoothly. The staff were consistently friendly, accommodating, and eager to assist with any requests. The food is another highlight. Meals are prepared fresh, so waiting times can range from 30 to 45 minutes, but the quality makes it worthwhile. We particularly enjoyed the Coconut Pol Roti and the Chicken Power Bowl, both of which are highly recommended. The restaurant menus could benefit from updated printing, and while the newer team members would benefit from additional training, the service remained warm and attentive. The coffee, however, is an area that could use improvement. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and the property overall still feels relatively new. The pillows were a bit too soft for our preference, and the bathrooms would benefit from an exhaust fan for better ventilation. Aside from these minor points, housekeeping standards were consistently good throughout our stay. Overall, Tabrobane House offers excellent value, a convenient location, warm hospitality, and comfortable accommodations. Value for money is good. With a few refinements, particularly in training, menu presentation, and coffee quality, it has the potential to provide an even stronger guest experience."

In the morning after breakfast, I saw a young man playing the piano, and in the evening, there was a band playing. It was a great experience. Service: The doormen were all very welcoming. Five-star standard service!"
